Bing is testing a subtle change in their navigation: instead of "CHAT" they were displaying "CHAT w/ GPT-4".
I suspect that they want to highlight to their audience that they are using the latest version of the current market leader. They most probably hope to convince more people to use this feature.
And the testing continues. Today they displayed the official branding in the navigation: "COPILOT".
In addition they where showing another item prominently called "MY BING".
Let´s see what will stick ...
It is getting more colorful: Bing is now using its new multi-colored icon in the top navigation.
With this new design it should certainly capture the attention of users better.
Bing continues testing variations of its navigation design. Today they were picking up Google´s bubble design, highlighting the first bubble ("Search" with a magnifier icon) with a light blue background.
"Copilot" for the second bubble did not stick yet, but returned to the usual "Chat".
Bing is once again testing its bubble design for the navigation. In addition, they are displaying larger badges called "Web Result" instead of the usual "Web".
Makes it a little easier not to confuse it with the short "Ad" label for paid results.
Bing keeps nudging towards Copilot: now they are trying to encourage the use directly in the extended search box while typing => "Try Copilot for"
@seroundtable Correct.
As mentioned in your post, the "Web" label has been around for quite a while. Now they are testing to change it to "Web Result", which obviously takes up a larger space. Thus, the size difference to the "Ad" label becomes more noticeable.
Only a minor detail, but might help a tiny bit to avoid government action.
On German SERPs the difference is between the usual "Web" and "Webergebnis".
